Fact Sheets
A collection of fact sheets that describe current activities or projects related to the global topic of fire.
Fact sheets summarize complex technical or scientific information in an accessible way. The following organizations in the Southern region and across the country produce fact sheets that can be used to provide training and information to fire practitioners:

Southern Fire Exchange provides fact sheets summarizing a variety of topics including fire ecology and effects, prescribed fire, public education, smoke management, and wildfire.

Other Fire Science Exchange Networks including the Consortium of Appalachian Fire Scientists and Managers, Great Plains Fire Science Exchange and Oak Woodlands & Forests Fire Consortium also produce fact sheets that are applicable to fire management in the South.

State Cooperative Extension Services, particularly those with strong natural resource or forestry Extension programs, may provide fact sheets on a variety of topics, including fire management, laws, and liability.

United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provides fact sheets and other publications on health and wildland fire topics.
